Biography
Kiki McGrath is a visual artist who constructs temporary environments and performs rituals in public and sacred spaces. Her work explores themes of enclosure, spiritual labor and maintenance art.
Selected exhibitions and performances include Art & Spirituality in Loyola University Maryland’s Julio Fine Arts Gallery, Swept Away in the Art in Odd Places Festival in New York City, Anchorhold in Washington DC’s National Cathedral, and 8HRS in Elevate Gallery at 21c, Chicago IL. Her work has been featured in Image Journal, The Chicago Reader, and Dove Tail magazine.
She received a Feminist Biennial Award from Woman Made Gallery in Chicago and a fellowship from the Grünewald Guild in Washington State. Residencies include Mother’s Milk in Kansas, The Poor Farm in Wisconsin, and the Henry Luce III Center for Arts & Religion in Washington DC. Her projects have been supported by the Illinois Arts Council and Washington DC’s Commission on the Arts and Humanities. She hosts Coachhouse1, an artist-run project space in Chicago.
